Willemstad, Curacao (ContentDesk) March 24, 2006 -- Following a good season-opener at the 37th Annual AC Delco NHRA Gatornationals, the VIPsports.com Top Alcohol Funny Car Team shifts its focus to Bradenton, Florida and its NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Divisional race.The team hopped over to Bradenton, after the Gainesville race, and has already set up camp for the week.
Data acquired at the Gatornationals is being crunched in the computer, in preparation for the arrival of the full crew and driver Danny Townsend.The VIPsports.com Dodge Stratus is appearing at Bradenton Motorsports Park for the first time.
The race is the second in a four-race Spring Tour that ParkerTech Racing Services put together at the request of their sponsor, VIPsports.com.
Frank Parker, team owner, stated, VIPsports.com really enjoyed last years season and the exposure at NHRA events.
They asked if we could add some races to the schedule, which was like asking a kid if he wanted another candy bar.
Needless to say, Parker jumped at the opportunity to visit new tracks and build up more on-track data.
With the additional experience from this tour, the team hopes to repeat their 2005 Jegs All Stars final-round appearance, but with the win light in their lane.Qualifying for the VIPsports.com car, at Bradenton Motorsports Park, is at 5 pm on Friday, March 24 and again on Saturday, March 25, at 3 pm and 6 pm.
Top Alcohol eliminations begin at 1 pm, Sunday, March 26.
